This is a joint role shared between Asian Ecotourism Network and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council – India.
Asian Ecotourism Network (AEN), is a regional initiative of Global Ecotourism Network (GEN) with a mission to connect AEN stakeholders for knowledge transfer, consulting, marketing, and business development to achieve sustainability.

- Report to the Executive committee & Administration Manager. Works with team members across different tasks.

The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), was formed in 2008 by the UN system, to develop global standards for sustainable tourism. GSTC has an India Working Group (IWG), to augment the functions of GSTC globally agreed on, based on principles of sustainability at the national level.

- Report to Chair of the GSTC-India. Works with team members across different tasks.

Asian Ecotourism Network
• Promote, assist and prepare communication materials for the programmes and awards organized by AEN: AEN International Awards Program and International Ecotourism Travel Mart.
• Help assisting the ecotourism standards and coordinating the GSTC training: Asian ecotourism standard for accommodations and Ecotourism Destination standard
• Assist in the day-to-day responsibilities of the organization with new and renewing memberships, managing the website and social media, gather information for the newsletter, work on AEN’s annual report and global and regional network communication.

GSTC – India
• Promote, assist and prepare communication materials for training programmes, workshops & webinars in India
• Prepare and update the databases
• Support in managing the internship and volunteer programme
• Assist in the day-to-day responsibilities of the organization, communication and follow-up with GSTC and on programmes, prepare reports on work. Attending GSTC staff meetings.

We are looking for a mature, experienced, level headed individual who has dealt with senior level executives. This is a work from home position.

• Education level: Minimum, Graduate level with good working knowledge of English.
• Experience: 6-8 years + in relevant field (Tourism, Marketing & Communication, Environmental related or other relevant fields)
• Specific skills: Proficient in all office related software, including spreadsheets and presentations. Skills in for Canva or similar designing tools would be desirable. Should be able to track activities and be able to regularly remind the team on various tasks. Should be proficient in precise and mature verbal communication, as a lot of contact with people from around the world and India will be necessary. Skills of basic accounting.

Other information

Remuneration
This position pays Rs 45,000 per month for the first 6 months. This may be revised after a review post the 6-month period.
